BUSINESS, MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION 1
Year Course

CTE Course
This course is designed to train students for the “real world of business” and/or the college-bound
student entering a business curriculum. Principles of business are taught including the global
economic environment, organization and management, and marketing and entrepreneurship.
Students learn spreadsheet software and a variety of other activities such as employability skills,
career exploration, business planning and case studies, communication skills, ethics, leadership,
and project management. Students will take the certification test for Microsoft Office Excel and
have an opportunity to join DECA, a student organization focused on marketing, finance,
hospitality, and management that promotes competition in these areas. LMC and Davenport
University articulation is available. -
BUSINESS, MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION 2
Year Course
11th, 12th
Prerequisite: Business Management & Admin 1
VPAA Credit
CTE Course
This course is designed to help students expand on principles of business acquired in Business
Management 1 through project-based learning. There is a major emphasis on Microsoft Office
certifications in Word and PowerPoint and certifications in communications and entrepreneurship.
Students will have the opportunity to join DECA, a student organization focused on marketing,
finance, hospitality, and management that promotes competition in these areas. LMC and
Davenport University articulation is available. -
ACCOUNTING
Year Course
10th, 11th, 12th
Prerequisite: Algebra
CTE Course
Qualifies as a math credit senior year only.
Elective credit for 10 th & 11th grades
Accounting is the language of business! Students learn how accounting relates to different
careers, learn accounting terminology, concepts, principles, and procedures. The students will
use online workings papers and accounting software to complete basic accounting procedures as
well as Excel Spreadsheets. Accounting for proprietorships and corporations will be covered as
well as corporate and personal money management, ethics, and being productive in the global
market place. Students will have an opportunity to join DECA, a student organization focused on
marketing, finance, hospitality, and management that promotes competition in these areas.
LMC and Davenport University articulation is available. -
ACCOUNTING 2
Year Course
11th , 12th
Prerequisite: Accounting 1
CTE Course
Qualifies as a math credit senior year only.
Elective credit for 11th grade
This course is designed to help students expand on accounting skills acquired in Accounting 1
through project-based learning. Students will learn adjustments and valuation for a merchandising
business and departmentalized accounting. Students will learn Microsoft Excel and take the
certification test as well as have an opportunity to join DECA, a student organization focused on
marketing, finance, hospitality, and management that promotes competition in these areas. LMC
and Davenport University articulation is available. -
MARKETING 1
Year Course
10th, 11th, 12th
VPAA Credit
This course is an introduction to the role of marketing in the U.S. and the global economy. This
class is project-based and critical thinking skills are taught. Students will learn about the
marketing core functions which include channel management, marketing information
management, market planning, pricing, product/service management, promotion, and selling.
Students will be required to join DECA, a student organization focused on marketing, finance,
hospitality, and management that promotes competition in these areas. -
MARKETING 2
Year Course
11th, 12th
Prerequisite: Marketing 1
VPAA Credit
This course is designed to help students expand on the basic marketing concepts acquired in
Marketing 1 through project-based learning. There is a major emphasis on entrepreneurship,
business plans, marketing your own business, distribution, promotion, and selling. Students will
be required to join DECA, a student organization focused on marketing, finance, hospitality, and
management that promotes competition in these areas. -
BUSINESS MARKETING 3
Year Course
12th
Prerequisite: Marketing 1 & 2
VPAA Credit
This course is designed to challenge the experienced marketing student through project-based
learning in the areas of economic understanding, human relations, marketing, promotion, and
product and service knowledge. Students will be required to join DECA, a student organization
focused on marketing, finance, hospitality, and management that promotes competition in these
areas. -
